Well, if it isn’t one kid waking you up in the night it’s the other. Bridget woke up to blow her nose and took a detour to my room where she stood over me like a creeper until I woke up. I jumped when I saw her silhouette lingering over my bed.
“Sorry, I just had to blow my nose.”
“Okay”… (crickets) “Well, did you do it?”
“Then go to bed, silly!”
This little exchange took place at 4 a.m. I lied in bed for another thirty minutes but decided to just get up and have a cup of tea. But first I had to make sure that Penelope was still breathing since she didn’t make a peep last night.
I think Bridget actually woke up because she’s excited about showing of her new crazy hair to her friends at school today.
She originally wanted bright red, but Amanda (see Operation Lululemon) convinced her to go with purple. I wanted her to get light blue like Gwen Stefani did back when we all discovered No Doubt. Ah, the memories of jumping on my bed and screaming “I’m Just a Girl” before taking off for a soccer game…
Okay, so maybe I was living vicariously.
Anyway, I’m stalling… I think I decided to get up at 4:30 because I was excited about weighing in. Did I seriously just say that?
You know how I do… I peed, got naked and jumped on the scale, (actually I wobbled because I was still sleepy) and it said 211.6.
Not too shabby!
That’s 3.2 pounds since last week.
I’m on a role. I’m not going to lie I was pretty nervous since I lost so much the first week. Which, for the record, was probably mostly water weight. This 3.2 pounds means more because it’s actually fat that is melting off of my body.
It’s now 5:30 and guess who just woke up…
How did you do? Let me know by posting in the comments section of this post. I can’t wait for those success stories to start trickling in!
Have a good day everyone 🙂
P.S. My new friend Carly has provided us a delicious option for dinner tonight Tangy Lemon Almond Chicken. I haven’t tried it yet but it sounds delish. You should check it out 🙂

I’m down about three pounds this week. I drank at least 3 liters of water a day, n worked out all week… Finally a good/successful week :). Oh n every time I hear “I’m just a girl”… I drift bk to painting ur room dancing around with that song on constant replay and ur dad quickly losing his mind :p
lol my dad says that he can’t hear that song without thinking of us as teenagers. Good job on the weight loss, but you’ve always been a hottie 😉
I just started no sugar no carbs this week but I did weigh in last Friday and decided this was a good weigh in day for me too! I am happy to say I lost 11.2 this week =) Im in the same boat, mine is mostly water weight too. THe first 2 days I spent more time in the bathroom then I did anywhere else. I liked the natural cleanse feeling I experienced though. All of that craziness calmed down yestereday and I actually slept more than an hour at a time =). My friend gave me some awesome recipes and if they are yummy ill post them for you if you want. Its a rice “substitute” =) Have a great weekend!!! =)
That’s awesome Melissa, congratulations! We would love to see the recipes.
Thanks Carly, your Tangy Lemon Almond Chicken looked so yummy I had to add it to the end of this post 🙂
Thanks! That’s so kind of you :). It really is yummy!
2lbs lighter! Worked out everyday but the day I had 3 out 4 kids sick at home 😉 And I totally freak out too when my kids hover over me in the night lol 😉 why do they do the whole staring at you til u wake up deal!
Wow, look at you Wonder Woman! It’s a major feat to stay on track when you’ve got three sick kiddos. And by the way Brent does the whole creeper sleeper thing too only he’s trying to scare the crap out of me… and it works.
I worked off my holiday 6lbs…YES 6lbs from pot lucks, home baked cookies and holiday finger foods. Make it stop and I finally did and got my butt back to the gym. I don’t have the extra workout time like I dream of, so focusing on quality efforts and lifts. I am even helping daughter making healthier choices. No a freezie before bed does not help you sleep better…Thanks for your uplifting blog, love it!
That’s awesome Willie and I’m so glad you enjoy the blog 🙂
Willie – Can’t wait to introduce you to “The Hottie” herself this summer!
I’ve met Willie at CFL during one of the bring your friend WODs and then we met again when we watched the Goonies at Red Rocks a few summers ago. And by the way you can refer to me as “The Hottie” anytime you want Corene 😉
Feel like such a downer…felt pretty good last week because I was at my pre Christmas weight. This week up 3 pounds….what! Felt like I ate like I should….stayed within my points… Can’t say that I was athlete of the week but I did get my work outs in….guess ill see what next Friday brings. Maybe it’s time to search out a trainer.
You’re not a downer! You posted your weight even though the weigh-in didn’t go the way you wanted. I bet most of the people who get negative feedback won’t even bother posting today. I’m proud of you!
Down 1.6 – not earth shattering, but I will take it!!!
We’ll take it! Earth shattering is overrated anyway 😉
I’m down 7 lbs this week!!
Holy crap that’s awesome!
Thanks! I know the first week is always the biggest number, but its encouraging! Instead of “DIEting” I’ve just been focused on eating simpler, cleaner, whole foods. This may be TMI, but I also get bloated a lot, so I’m experimenting with Gluten free for January. So far so good!
I am down to 192.0 a loss of 2.1 pounds…..slow and steady 🙂 Chugga chugga …I think I can, I think I can….Chugga chugga chugga chugga
You know what they say… that’s the ideal weekly weight loss.
LOVE Bridget’s hair!!!! Congrats on the pounds lost! 🙂 Well done
