Week 19 Weigh-in

Holy crap, today is weigh in day! I almost forgot because I was thrown off by all of the shenanigans of the week.

I haven’t worked out in over a week due to my back sprain and if I were to be honest with you I would tell you that it is driving me BONKERS!

(Wasn’t there a candy in the 80’s called bonkers?)

Anyway, I tried not to pity eat too much but the boredom of sitting around all of the time really got to me.

I got on the scale this morning and weighed in at 198….

BOOOOO!

Angry-Mob

(That’s an angry crowd boo, not a make you pee your pants boo.)

My back feels so much better but when I mentioned fitting in a workout my husband and my friend the physical therapist have ganged up on me and said NO.

This bugs me. I’m still not clear as to when it is safe for me to workout. Working out is my favorite part of the healthy lifestyle process. If I could workout and eat like crap I would be the happiest person alive.

Plus my ego is all wrapped up in the ability to lift heavy things at a speedy pace. I feel like my super powers have been taken away.

I’m only allowed to walk for exercise. That’s boring, I tried it the other day and I was tempted to pick up the pace a bit. We’ll see how long the exercise police can keep me contained.

Until then I’m going to have to really focus on what I eat. That means no more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches 😦

In the mean time I’m going to have to come up with a different super power…

self control

(Pshhh… who are we kidding? This is my kryptonite.)

Stay tuned for the next installment of “Did Nina Drop a Pants Size?”

It’ll be thrilling… scout’s honor.

  1. Considering you’ve done your back in that isn’t that bad. It could have been worse! I’m sure it wont be long before you can weight bare again!!!

  2. From a fellow back injury person, as hard as it is, take it slow…u don’t want to do even more damage and then really be out for a long time. Although it is very hard to not do what u want, lol

  3. It must be terrible not being able to exercise but take the professional advice, then hopefully you’ll recover quickly and have no serious repercussions.

  4. Well your number on the scale is still excellent! congrats! and yes – sadly you must be careful. If you hurt it worse then it will be even longer before you can jump back into exercise. I went whitewater rafting this past weekend and my hips are still screaming a week later…Im still confused how my hips hurt because I was mostly using upper body and core. Must research if i use hips too. damn these 38 year old hips! I mourn over the 21 year old hips that could take whitewater rafting like they were a piece of cake!
